The cemetery belonged to St Paul's church which was founded in 1830. The church closed in 1980 and was subsequently demolished and an appartment block is now built on the site of the church. The cemetery has been neglected over the years and many of the headstones have been removed although the cemetery has been tidied up by local voluteers in recent times. The original wall surrounding the site is listed and preserved
