The cemetery was established in 1936 by Ilona Salamon, the last owner of the castle. She moved here the ashes of her husband Giza Salamon, who died in 1920, his brother Andor and his uncle Gezy. At the end of the war, Ilona left Niedzica forever, the castle and the lands belonging to it were nationalized after the war. She died in Hungary in 1964, and the family brought her ashes and her son Istvan to this private cemetery in Niedzica in 1977.
