Macie Vashti Stein, 94, of Aurora went home to heaven on Friday, September 27, 2002 after a brief illness. She was born May 31, 1908 in Columbus, GA the daughter of the late Julius and Aarry (McGuirt) Dimon.
Mrs. Stein was the youngest of ten children, she was a native of Georgia but moved north with her family over 60 years ago where she met the love of her life, Edward stein. For many years she was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Jackson Street in Aurora. Her gentle spirit, sense of humor and sweet southern accent will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her adopted family, her next door neighbors, Steve and Linda Valentine, and their children, Arielle, Caleb, Luke and Rosalie and her beloved Golden Retriever, "Dixie".
She was preceded in death by virtually her entire family from Georgia, her husband "Steady Eddie" Stein and her brother-in-law, Walter Stein.
Services will be held for Macie on Monday September 30, 2002 1:30p.m. at Dieterle Memorial Home, Montgomery where friends may call on Monday from 11:00a.m. until time of services. Pastor Jock Ficken will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Macie's name to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
