This is the grave of an unnamed soldier who died in the U.S. Military Hospital in Williamsville, New York during the War of 1812, and who was buried in the Garrison Cemetery (aka War of 1812 Cemetery) between 1814 and 1815. The former grave markers were encased in cement foundations, but are now missing. Only the cement foundations remain. In its place, a simple white wooden cross is stuck into the ground instead. None of the graves bear a name.
