Description

Richard Seidelmann, 84, of Montgomery passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at the Tillers in Oswego. He was born on September 2, 1922 in Aurora; son of the late Carl and Mayme (Delles) Seidelmann. After graduating from East Aurora High School in 1940, Rich served his country during World War II as a Tech Sergeant in the Spearhead Division of the Armored Infantry in Europe. He graduated from the Walton School of Commerce in Chicago in 1950. He worked for Lyon Metal from 1940 until his retirement in 1982, working his way up to the position of Vice-President & Corporate Secretary. After retirement, Rich and wife Margaret moved to Clearwater, Florida, where he enjoyed 20 years of what he considered paradise. He was member of and past-President of the school board and a deacon at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Aurora. He was also a member of the Board of Elders and a deacon at Bethel Lutheran church in Clearwater. Rich was President Emeritus of the Fox Valley Accountants Association, President of the National Association MidAmerican Chapter of the Red Cross and a member of the American Corporate Secretaries Association.

Family members include his loving wife of 62 years, Margaret (Schmidt)Seidelmann of Montgomery; his daughter, JoAnn Beane of Oswego; his son, Thomas (Julie) Seidelmann of Duluth, Minnesota; his grandchildren; Jared (Jill) Beane of Oswego, Megan (Shane) Connell of Montgomery, Kevin Beane of Oswego, Scott Seidelmann of Phoenix, Arizona, Eric Seidelmann of Duluth and Laurie Seidelman of Duluth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Howard and Kenneth Seidelmann; and his son-in-law, Glenn Beane.

Rich was a loving husband, devoted father and doting grandpa who touched the lives of everyone who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 85 S. Constitution, Aurora, where a visitation will begin at 10:00AM. Reverend Jock Ficken will officiate and burial will follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Montgomery. The family will greet guests on Friday evening from 3:00 until 7:00PM at Dieterle Memorial Home in Montgomery. Many thanks the staff of the Tillers for the compassion and care given to Rich and his family. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul's Lutheran School building Fund of the charity of choice.
