Nikalette Y. Simental-Rivera, 17, of Sugar Grove, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at her home. She was born on March 6, 2001 in Aurora, Illinois. Nikalette was a junior at West Aurora High School excelling in her studies with the hope of one day becoming a doctor. She was determined student who was due to graduate a semester early in December of 2018. She was a member of the cross country team, a link leader greeting incoming freshmen and sophomores and a member of Hosa at West Aurora High School. She was a happy and outgoing young lady who gave of herself volunteering at Hessed House and local nursing homes. She was the 2017-2018 Aurora Puerto Rican Cultural Council's Miss Yabucoa Puerto Rico Princess. She is survived by her mother, Sandra Simental; her step-father, Jorge Ochoa; her sister, Angelina Ochoa; two brothers, Sam Anthony Perez, Sean Mikael Ochoa; her maternal grandparents, Juan and Lilia Simental; two half- sisters, Janessa Marie Rivera, Raquel Rivera; two half-brothers, Ramon Junito Rivera, Cesar Rivera; several aunts, uncles and cousins as well as many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Ramon Luis Rivera and her paternal grandparents. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 10:30 AM from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY; to St. Rita of Cascia Church at 11:00AM Fr. Manuel Gomez will officiate with interment at Sugar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Liturgical wake service at 6:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, Illinois 60506.
