Lot 2, Roman Catholic Section, Block G:: Sister Mary Alban of St Joseph's Convent teaching staff. The nuns of the Order of Mercy from Waihi and Te Aroha were present. The church was crowded. Dean Hackett preached the funeral sermon in which he referred to the life and beautiful death of Sister Alban, whose work and example would never die out in school or parish. The children of Mary would remember her gentle ways and fervent instructions. Her sister in religious life sould cherish the memory of her patience and resignation during her long and trying illness. The sick and infirm in the parish whom she visited and for whom she offered persevering progress would miss her. Her pure sould had gone to join Morther mary of the Cross and the other sisters of St Joseph who predeceased her and who now worship around the throne of God. The remains were interred in the easten corner of the local cemetery, specially reserved by Dean Hackett. It is the intention of the parishioners to erect a marble cross above her grave and have the section surrounded by iron railings on concrete foundation.
