Sacred to the Memory of Lieut. Gen. Sir Manley Power. K.C.B.K.T.S.

He was highly distinguished as an Officer through the Peninsular War.

The Military Commands entrusted to him bear testimony to the confidence reposed in his Valour and Judgment and his intrepid discharge of them proved how sincere was his zeal and devotion to his Country.

He died at Berne in Switzerland (after a few hours illness), returning to England from Malta, where he had been Lieut. Governor six years.

An urbanity of manners and sacred attachment to all that was Honourable endear his memory to his connections and friends and render his loss irreparable to his afflicted widow and family.
