THE SLOAN MAUSOLEUM was built
by Frank W. Sloan, a prominent
Geneva financier, philanthropist, and
president of the Geneva State Bank.
Also buried here are his father and
mother, James and Elizabeth, his
sister Mamie with her husband Elmer
Sickles, and his brother Charles and
his wife Emma Porter. Charles was a
distinguished Nebraska attorney and
member of Congress from 1911 to
1919 and from 1929 to 1931. His
eldest son, Blaine, died in the First
World War. The younger Blaine Sloan, son of Charles' second son, Charles Porter (buried elsewhere in this cemetery), was Deputy Legal Counsel and Director of General Legal at the United Nations and a professor of international law.
