Epitaph
Joseph Bauer was born in Viehbach. He was an engineer and a taxi driver. He met his wife Maria Luthe in Cologne and they married in 1960. He built his own house in Viehbach for his new wife. Later he started an air-conditioning manufacturing workshop in Viehbach in 1967. Joseph enjoyed travelling through Eastern Europe and he went as often as he could. He sold the business in 2004. Joseph died while on a road trip in Osijek, Croatia. His body was brought back to Viehbach for burial.

This is also the burial site of Joseph's aunt, Theresa Bauer Schmid (1880-1958) but it is not written on this newer grave marker.
