Baker Family Crypt - Hon. John Baker (28.12.1813 - 18.5.1872) This plaque marks the position of the Baker Family Crypt, which due to the badly deteriorating stonework by the 1960's, was demolished and filled in. As far as can be ascertained, there were eight family members interred in the Crypt - Mary Baker (John's mother) 1849, Arthur (Augustus) Baker (son) 1868, George A. Baker (son) 1872, Hon. John Baker 1872, Henry Baker (brother of John) 1873, Mary Anstice Ross (daughter) 1876, John Baker (son) 1883, Henry Chaffey Baker (son of Henry, nephew of John) 1903, Sir Robert Dairymple Ross, a prominent South Australian and son-in-law of John Baker, buried in a grave next to the Crypt in 1887.
