Description
He served in 23 engagements including Williamsburg, Malvern Hill, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Gettysburg, Rappahannock Station and Wilderness. He was mortally wounded at Battle of Spotsylvania where the regiment lost heavily in casualties during Upton's Charge. He was left in the hands of the enemy and it appears that his reamins were never recovered.
