MR. JAMES SQUIRES

Another sudden death took place during the week-end with the passing of Mr.James Squires. Deceased, who was 73 year's of age, was a son of the late, James and Bridget Squires, of Warrnambool, where he was born. He was married, at Benalla 45 years ago to Miss Helena Adeline Wignell, who pre-deceased him many years ago. He was a well known identity in Benalla, where he had many friends, who will regret his passing. He is survived by a family of three sons and three daughters, Vincent (Yarrawonga), Mary (Mrs. J. Briggs, Benalla), Eileen May (Mrs. B. Newitt, Benalla), Benalla), Theresa (Mrs. L. Stevens, Benalla), Joe and Bernard (Benalla). Burial took place at the Benalla cemetery on Monday afternoon following a short service at St. Joseph's Church by Rev Fr. Lacey, who also officiated at the graveside. The coffin bearers were Messrs. H. Dolssr, A. Hyland. L. Stevens and H. Briggs. Supporting the pall were Messrs. P. Clancy, I. Abley, A. W. Roscoe, J. Spencer, W. Gardiner and J. Nelson. .The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. H. A. Abbott.
