Our Dear MotherLouisa EggersDied Sep 2nd 1929Aged 82Asleep in JesusHans & Dorothea Eggers with baby Maria Migrated from Germany to Nelson New Zealand arriving April 1859 on the ship "Mariner" They first lived at Waimea East before settling in Sunrise Valley, (Sarau) Upper Moutere about 1865Dorothea died after the birth of their fifth child.Hans later married Louisa Marie Hammerich and adopted her son Charles.
