Mrs. Gertrude Mae Lemon, 94, 742 Poplar, died Wednesday, October 24, at a Topeka hospital.
Mrs. Lemon operated restaurants at Maple Hill before she moved to Topeka. She also operated restaurants in Topeka including the restaurant at Phillip Billard Airport several years.
She was born Nov. 12, 1889, in Washington County, the daughter of William J. and Abigail Netter Whittington.
Mrs. Lemon was a member of Central Church of Christ in Topeka.
She was married to Thomas M. "Montie" Lemon Dec. 24, 1906. He died in 1951. A son, Charles W. Lemon died Sept. 25, 1963.
Survivors include four grandsons, 19 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. memorial contributions may be made to Central Church of Christ, 1250 College, 66604.
