the beloved & Devoted Wife of Capt'n Tho's Dennis
Departed this life in Knight's Ferry
She died as she lived,peaceably & calmly, in a Strange Land in the arms of a Stranger, Angels will caress the tears of those few True Friends (for she had some) that loved her for her real worth.
From cares & pains may all before surround the whole with you. Sublimity alone can mould & elevate the Soul. Beyond vain joys beyond vain doubts, arise with minds set fine. And learn the language of thy soul, that you may learn to soe.
The adjoining grave contains the remains of George, the first born son of Tho's & Mary Dennis. Born in London, England & departed this life at Knight's Ferry
