Mr Joseph Rius, who has been the guest of Mr Bellve for some months, died at the residence of the latter yesterday morning.
Mr Bellve, an old resident of Feilding was born in Spain, was a miner on the Australian and New Zealand goldfields, came to Turakina where he kept the Railway Hotel. From there he came to Feilding about 17 or 18 years ago and kept the Empire Hotel.
Mrs Bellve, who was in occupation of the Empire Hotel, Feilding, for many years, died at Dunedin a few days ago. The interment will take place at Feilding on Thursday.
