Plot 1126, Row 65, Block 2 .. The death occurred on Tuesday night of one of Feilding's first settlers in the person of Mr E. T. Allen of Camden street. Deceased first came to Feilding in the 1870s but left again for Wellington and after residing in Napier for 34 years returned to Feilding about 9 years ago. He is survived by his wife, one daughter at home and two sons, Mr Wm. Allen of Allen and Dowrick, Feilding and Mr A. R. Allen of Palmerston to whom much sympathy is extended ... At the residence of her son, Mr W. J. Allen, Pirinoa Rd., Feilding, Emily Smeath, beloved wife of the late Edward Thomas Allen. The deceased lady was born in London and, following her marriage came to new Zealand in 1874. The late Mrs Allen was a staunch church worker and was attached to the Feilding Baptist Church, besides taking a keen part in missionary work.
