Doppelhammer, John F. "Jack" 96, of Montgomery passed away on January 15, 2012 at Hillside Rehabilitation in Yorkville, IL. He proudly served his country with the US Army during WWII. Jack was a lifetime member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Tiger Club, VFW, and the Montgomery American Legion. He retired from Commonwealth Edison after 34 years. He especially enjoyed traveling to Florida with his family. He is survived by his loving son James (Judy), his grandchildren Traci (Larry) Lappe, Jamie (Eric) Edwards, Tiffany (Rich) Fox, John (Julia) Doppelhammer, Jaclyn (Brian) Crest, Joel (fiancé Jesse) Doppelhammer and Jeffrey Doppelhammer. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Katie, Cory, William, Miranda, AJ, Andrew, Ellie, Jack, Thomas, Noah, Madison, Eli, and Maya. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Eleanor, his siblings Frank (Jessie) and Helen (Whitey) Pagel and great-grandson Matthew. Family will be receiving guests on Wednesday; January 18th from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at Dieterle Memorial Home 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538.
