Description

The three Bathgates were buried on this hillside which was the first cemetery site at the Quarantine Station, Spring Cove, near Manley, New South Wales. They were amongst over 143 passengers on the vessel William Rodger bringing assisted migrants from Scotland to Sydney. Archibald was aged 28 and died of typhus fever, Adam, 9 months, died from from typhus fever, Edmund Edward may be a twin of Adam and died of want of proper nutriment. The headstones were removed during the later history of the Quarantine Station.
