R.I.P.
Doris was born in Prospect, Adelaide, South Australia in 1890 to Robert Henry Gault (1858 - 1898) and Harriett Mary Australia Roberts (1860 - 1941).
She travelled to England with her parents in 1891 and remained there until her mother died in 1941.
Doris then lived as a Housekeeper with her brother - Rev Cecil Gault (a Church of England Minister) - moving around with Cecil as he was rotated through various parishes in England until they arrived in New Zealand in about 1951/52.
Doris remained at 84 Oxford Terrace, Christchurch Central, Canterbury, New Zealand until a trip was taken back to England in 1958. She returned to New Zealand in Aug 1958 where she remained (possibly living with Cecil at Diamond Harbour, Lyttleton, NZ) till her death in 1962.
Death NZ BDM 1962/29869. Anecdotal information says that Doris suffered with Polio as a child. She was described as a very difficult gentle woman.
