Description
Cradoc was born late 1851 and registered at Bridgend, Glamorganshire, Wales. In 1871 he was boarding at Neath, Glamorgan, Wales with the Roberts family and another boarder. He was a tailor journeyman aged 20.
He emigrated, aged 24, from Glamorganon, Wales on the Helen Denny arriving 20 Sep 1875 in Napier.
He married Emma Grinlinton on 4 March 1878 at St. John's Church, Napier. She was the eldest daughter of William Nassau Grinlinton and Jane Maguire of Napier (originally Ireland). The Grinlintons were Funeral Directors in this area, some buried here in Old Gorge Cemetery. Emma's brother, Robert Eldon Grinlinton was the Funeral Director for Cradoc.
