Description

Consort of William A. Ancrum

Died in the 31st year of her age

She was an exemplary member of the Presbyterian Church.

Her life was spent in the discharge of her personal and relative duties but more especially in imparing sweet counsel and religious instruction to the objects of her care and love of whom were six dear children of tender age whose, sad loss is irreparable. An earthly home is darkened but a mansion is brightened in heaven by the gentle spirit for whom it was prepared by the merit of the blessed Redeemer. Her bereaved husband has placed this inscription on her tomb to bear is testimony to her numerous virtues.

Jer. 15th Chap. first clause 9th verse

Teaches us thou comforter divine,

Contentment should our all be gone.

Teach us submission meek as thine.
