Sacred to the Memory of

Andrew & Alexander Sutherland.

The former a Captain & Commissioner of the Navy. Died at Gibraltar July 18, 1795.

The latter of equal rank in the Royal Corps of Engineers. Expired of wounds received at Lannay, October 28th 1793.

In the Service of their country

Their worth was conspicuous and acknowledged.

Their private virtues are well remembered & remain deeply engraven in the hearts of a disconsolate Widow, & mournful relations. Their brother I.S. erected this monument.
