Description

This plaque is not located in the Norfolk Island Cemetery in Kingston but it is on the banks of a drainage channel near where the twins were said to be buried at Bay Street, Emily Bay, Kingston, Norfolk Island in August 1792. The plaque was placed on the site 214 years to the day from the date of the first landing of the new settlers in 1788. It is the site of the first settlement cemetery on Norfolk Island. It has been said that when the Norfolk Island Cemetery was established some bodies were exhumed and transferred to the new site
