Description
Ira was the 7th of 13 children of William Parker (1824-1910) & Hannah Herbert Underhill (1837-1899) who arrived into Wellington 30 Jan 1857 on the Indian Queen. Their 18 month old son William died on board 7 weeks into the journey. Another son was born 10 days from the ship berthing in Wellington, but died 2 days after arrival. William & Hannah settled in Carterton and had a further 11 children.
Ira 1st married Alice Elizabeth Downard (1872-1947) on 25 March 1889 & had 9 children.

Ira next married Erea Ada Edith Silva on 28 April 1913 & had another 9 children. Erea was born on Mangati Bay, Great Barrier Island, to Domingo Silve & Mary Polly Tobouch. She & Ira are buried together Plot 60, Row 9, Block H.
His 1st wife Alice married another 3 times and is buried Waukumete.
