This cemetery is located in the Gorges State Park at the following GPS reading: N 35 05.325 W 082 56.883 Elevation2822’. Drive into the Gorges State Park and take the drive to the right after the visitor center. After bearing right at the visitor center, proceed to the Rainbow Falls Trailhead Parking lot, then bear left to stay on the paved loop road, by-passing the entrance to the 4-wheel road. Park at a gate on the right and walk about ¼ mile to the cemetery that is on the right with three stone steps up into the cemetery. It does not have a marker, you must just watch to the right. The cemetery has one new marker that was place on the site of Eliza Smith Dodgen and her unnamed daughter. There are two fieldstone graves marked in the small cleared area. If you desire to visit any of the cemeteries in the Augerhole/Gorges area I strongly urge you to contact the Abandoned Cemetery Committee of Transylvania County and seek a guide to accompany. The cemeteries are NOT marked with trails and the roads into the area are very unpredictable and seasonal use only.
